Pick Your Charity

Hello Boys and Girls,

Today we are going to look at some project that help people in need.  We are going to research about these issues and create a persuasive presentation that persuades the 3rd graders to help that charity or cause.  Today you are going to look at 2 organizations, kiva and globalgiving, and pick some people that you would be interested in helping.

First, visit each website and decide which issues are the most interesting to you.  Then, fill out the google form (in your gmail) with the name of the cause and your explanation of why you chose it.

Zoo Project Costs

Objective:  I can calculate the cost of building my zoo through using the 4 operations and my understanding of area and perimeter.

First you will need to find the area and perimeter of each enclosure. You will use the prices below to calculate the cost of each enclosure in meters.

Afterwards, you will need to add vegetation both inside and outside your enclosures so the animals feel comfortable and your zoo looks attractive. You will need to calculate these costs using square meters costs.

Record all your calculations on your google spreadsheet.
